Culling at Pasir Ris (singaporecats, 20060302)
Eating places are penalised if cats are sighted on/around the premises, as decreed by the NEA. The NEA also actively culls cats, crows, dogs, and whatever is deemed offensive to Singapore's sense of hygiene/environment (since when did hygiene blur the line and merge with environment anyway?) So many food operators are paranoid of cats appearing in their premises. But some are just plain callous, for example: Pasir Ris BLK 445 & 446 has coffee-shops where culling takes place frequently. Worse is the attitude of some the operators:
They cull many times over there already. Alot of cat haters there. The new (not so new now) coffeeshop just before Pentecost Church, when they opened many months back, the drink stall lady boss sealed 4 kittens in a plastic bag and left them in dustbin to die. Pls boycott that coffeeshop (not the two that are facing the drive 6 road).
Why wasn't this drink stall lady boss prosecuted under the Animals and Birds Act for her cruelty? Persumably because she is doing 'national service' by clearing away the 'cat nusiance'.
