Now, this isolated population of white whales may disappear forever. Click here directly to take action Please also consider checking out the Defenders of Wildlife's Take Action page, and signing up for alerts. Current list of urgent actions needing your help:
- Help Save Alaska's Wolves. Alaska has taken action to reinstate its aerial gunning program. Under the program, marksmen can gun down wolves from the air or run the wolves to exhaustion, then land and shoot them at point blank range. Help us put an end to this brutal practice once and for all.
- Stop Fueling Exxon Mobil's Anti-Wildlife Agenda. It’s time to hold ExxonMobil responsible for putting corporate profits over protection of wildlife and wildlife habitat. Join Defenders of Wildlife in urging ExxonMobil to clean up its act.
- Stand Up for Endangered Species. In September, the House of Representatives passed Congressman Richard Pombo's (R-CA) "Wildlife Extinction" bill, which would gut the ESA. The fate of the Endangered Species Act will ultimately be decided in the Senate. Help us ensure that the Pombo “Wildlife Extinction” bill does NOT become law. Send a message to your Senators now!
- Don’t Let Great Cats & Rare Canines Vanish Forever. Did you know that many of the world’s great cats and rare canines are disappearing? Every day, animals like the cheetah, African wild dog, clouded leopard, and Ethiopian wolf face threats to their very existence. You can help save these magnificent creatures.
- Help Save the Wolves. Once all but wiped out in the lower 48 states by extermination campaigns, wolves are just now struggling for survival again in the wild. But they need your help for their fragile recovery to continue.
